Extended Care

Extended Care is offered to Nature Campers Tuesday - Friday mornings and Monday - Friday afternoons (when Nature Camp is in session).

Mornings: Tuesday-Friday, 8-9 a.m. (Not available at West Seattle location)
Fee per child: $9 per day or $28 for full week

Afternoons: Monday-Friday, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Fee per child: $17 per day or $69 per week (includes snack)

Why is morning Extended Day Care not offered on Mondays?

Because Monday is the first day of a new camp session, we ask that parents/guardians accompany their children for check-in in order to be sure we have all necessary paperwork, are able to answer any questions, explain the pick-up procedure, etc. Additionally, camp staff needs the time before camp to prepare for the arrival of the week's new campers.

Extended Care Registration

Sign-up is available online while you complete your regular registration. Space is limited!

If you have already registered for Nature Camp and would like to add Extended Care to your registration, please contact the Camp Registrar.

Extended Care Activities:

This year we are happy to embark on a more structured extended day schedule and offer extended care only activity options for enrolled campers. After a long day at camp, often in the sun, campers are tired, and we understand that each child responds to this in different ways. Each day campers will have a choice between a quiet option and an active option, in addition to the special activity for the day:

Monday – Art Project

Tuesday – Science experiments

Wednesday – Special snack making

Thursday – Nature exploration

Friday – Obstacle courses

* Campers are not required to participate in the daily scheduled activities.

Who staffs extended day care?

Morning extended day care is staffed by the camp registrar and a Junior Naturalist intern. Afternoon extended care is staffed by the On-Site Camp Coordinator as well as one or two Junior Naturalist Interns, depending on the number of campers enrolled.

Nature Camp late fees:

Campers not registered for Extended Care who have not been picked up by 3:45 p.m. will automatically be added to Extended Care, and will be charged the $17 fee for the day. Fee must be paid in cash or by check upon pickup.

Extended Day Care late fees:

Although we enjoy spending the day with your kids, please be considerate and respectful of our staff's time. If you pick up your camper in Extended Care after 5:30 p.m., the following late fee applies:

$1 per minute for every minute you are late until 5:45. $3 per minute for any additional minute after 5:45. To be paid in cash or by check at the time of pick-up.The clock on the camp cell phone will be used to determine late fees.
